Popular stationery store to close on Christmas Eve

Paper Source will cease to operate right after the holidays.

Since the closing of Reading, Writing, and Wrapping in the downtown ‘Dale many years ago, the nearest place to buy fanciful cards, stationery, and gift-worthy knick-knacks has been Paper Source in Vernon Hills Shopping Center. Now, however, Scarsdale residents will need to look beyond our town’s borders for a similar business: On December 24th, the store will cease operations.

“It was something with the lease,” said an employee with a shrug. Lease issues, of course, are something with which Scarsdale Village residents are all too familiar. When asked if Paper Source might reopen in a different location, the employee said they weren’t sure, and expressed some skepticism.

Grab your final take of this shop’s cute merch while you can—currently, everything is 20% off. Once you’re done, keep your fingers crossed that an equally fetching store will come in and take its place.
