A healthy bonus for early voters

Cast your ballot at Westchester Community Center on these dates for free Covid and flu vaccines.

Doing shots The CDC recommends that everyone get one of the 2024-25 Covid booster vaccines.

If you’ll be voting early, here’s a good reason to cast your ballot at the Greenburgh Town Hall (which is open to all Westchester County voters). On October 30th and 31st, Covid and flu shots will be offered onsite. The vaccine and boosters will be administered by the Westchester Community Health Center, which will use both the Pfizer and Moderna Coronavirus formulations.

“This has become an annual voting tradition,” said Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner. It’s a convenient chance for voters to not only choose their candidates, but also to make to wise choices for their health. The shots are available both before and after casting a ballot, and blood pressure screening will also be offered.

Just be aware that the vaccines will only be available during certain hours: On Wednesday, October 30th, the shots will be administered from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., and on Thursday the 31st from noon to 8 p.m. “Hopefully, [offering the shots] will enable [voters] to stay healthier during the coming months, when flu and Covid symptoms rise,” Feiner said. “I hope this will also boost voter turnout.”

8 a.m.-4 p.m. Weds. Oct. 30; noon-8 p.m. Thurs.Oct. 31st; 177 Hillside Ave., White Plains.
