Another HQ for Eye Q Optometrist
The popular eye care and eyewear business opens a third location.

While most of us toasted New Year’s with champagne, Stacy and Abraham Zlatin, owners of the respected Eye Q Optometrist, celebrated with a brand-new office at 1483 Weaver Street. The location is where they offer the majority of their Advance Orthokeratology (AOK) Services. AOK is a non-surgical vision correction technique that uses custom-designed molds to temporarily improve vision by reshaping the cornea while the patient sleeps.
Enter the store and you’ll find yourself swathed in serenity. Gorgeous neutral tones wash over the space, which was created by a European designer. Sleek counters and beautiful light fixtures add even more visual appeal. “We wanted it to feel luxurious and calm,” said Stacy Zlatin.
New, fabulous frames
The Zlatins have brought in even more luxury frames than they have offered in the past. Stacy Zlatin showed off sleek pairs of Dita glasses, a brand that has exploded in popularity since being spotted on stars including Kenan Thompson, Matthew McConaughey, and Cate Blanchett.
“Creating a single Dita frame takes about three-hundred-and-fifty steps, and months of time,” Stacy Zlatin said. Made in Japan, they have the kind of detail and precision the country is known for: think gold inlays and beautiful hinges, plus nose pieces technologically designed for greater comfort.
Eye-Q is also the area’s exclusive dealer of Akoni eyewear, favored by celebs including Jeremy Renner and Beyoncé. (If something is good enough for Beyoncé, it’s good enough for you, right?) “They are designed with Swiss precision and Japanese artistry,” Stacey Zlatin said. “They were developed in 2020 to redefine luxury eyewear, and they use really fine designs, materials, craftsmanship, and technology. The frames are just incredible.” It’s beautifully evident. Temples have beautiful added elements, and the hinges are not only made to be unbreakable, but also have invisible screws. Nose pads are made from pure titanium, so they will never corrode or cause any irritation to the wearer’s skin. “Just every detail is wonderful.”
What’s in store for the future?
For fans of Eye-Q’s original practice at 1098 Wilmot Road (in the Golden Horseshoe), rest assured it still remains. “We decided to expand because we have so many patients that want to come to see us for myopia control and our family eye care that we needed the space,” Stacy Zlatin said. The Zlatins’ son, Dr. Zachary Zlatin, will also be at the practice several days a week to care for patients.
Soon, the practice will hold a grand opening celebration. It will be y’all come event, with the public invited. Stay tuned for further updates.
