I sent you flowers
A Taunton Road resident Jan. 13 called the police to say a local flower shop informed her she was getting a delivery; she said she wasn’t home or expecting flowers. An officer went to her place and saw flowers were delivered with a tag matching her address. The exterior of the home was checked and all appeared in good order.
Florida woman caught speeding
A Delray Beach woman, 42, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and speeding in a marked zone on Heathcote Road on Jan. 13. Police say while conducting a traffic enforcement in the vicinity of Heathcote and Duck Pond Road they saw a car traveling west towards them, speeding. A traffic stop was initiated and the operator presented an invalid Florida driver’s license. A check with the New York DMV yielded the operator has a suspended status. She was issued two summonses.
Bank account raided by scammer
Police are investigating an incident of identity theft and grand larceny reported Jan. 14 by a Birchall Drive resident. The victim, male, 68, told police he accepted a phone call from someone who said they represented his bank. He provided them with information they used to raid his account. Paperwork was issued for the victim and a report was made for documentation.
Loose dog
A Hamilton Road caller Jan. 14 reported their black Lab/Sharpei mix dog got loose and was on the lam. The dog was returned to its owner but it’s not known if police were involved.
The FBI wants to speak with you
A Cohawney Road caller Jan. 15 told police two people who identified themselves as FBI agents were at her mother’s home and wished to speak with her mother. Police arrived and spoke to the agents who did wish to talk to the caller’s mother. The resident was contacted by phone and police assisted with establishing a time she could be interviewed.
Dog likes to let itself out
A golden retriever was reported on the loose Jan. 19 by a caller on Huntington Avenue. The caller said the dog came on his property and he had it secured at his home. He believes it belongs to his neighbor. The dog’s owner was contacted and said they weren’t home. They leave a door open for the dog to let itself out. Due to the weather, police advised they put the dog inside the house and secure the door. They also warned the dog’s owner to keep the door shut to avoid possible criminal behavior.
Where’s your driver’s license?
An Elmsford man, 22, was issued tickets Jan. 16 for speeding and driving without a license after an officer pulled him over at Post Road and Fenimore Road during a traffic enforcement. Three summonses were issued.
Ran a red light
A Mount Vernon woman, 35, was pulled over Jan. 17 at Chase Road and Woodland Place and issued tickets for unlicensed operation and running a red light. During a traffic enforcement at Popham and Chase, the officer saw her go through a red light. The officer followed her and conducted a traffic stop. Three tickets were issued.
Caught speeding
A Hicksville, Long Island woman, 34, was caught speeding and driving without the benefit of a legit license Jan. 17 at Post Road and Tompkins Road. Someone with a valid license arrived on her behalf to drive away the vehicle.
Icy road
Icy road conditions Jan. 19 caused a White Plains driver, 34, to skid into a telephone pole at Post and Fenimore. No one was injured. The utility was notified to come and inspect the pole.
It’s just the snow plow
A caller on Forest Lane Jan. 20 called the police late at night reporting a loud banging noise. Police went to the area and saw a Village plow truck clearing snow. All appeared in order.
