Neighbors have grief, a credit card thief, and someone’s ex-girlfriend is giving them grief.

Struck a parking meter pulling into a parking spot 

A driver March 2 on Garth Road struck a parking meter while attempting to park their car. The driver, male, 42, from Manhattan and in a 2023 BMW, wasn’t injured but was ticketed. 

Unauthorized transactions 

Theft was reported Feb. 24 by an Eastchester resident who said on Feb. 14 they think their credit cards were stolen by someone on Harwood Court. They said four transactions were made by an unidentified party. Evidence of the transactions was provided to the police to aid their investigation. 

Don’t give ’em any credit A resident claimed someone on Harwood court pinched their credit cards.

Doggone 

A Harvest Drive resident Feb. 24 reported a loose dog in their yard. The dog was gone before police arrived. 

Neighbor’s construction equipment is irking 

A Burgess Road resident Feb. 24 complained about construction equipment being used by a neighbor that is disturbing the sleep of her and her family. She specifically said it was a pump. Police couldn’t see this equipment as it is inside the building site but determined a village code against noise was in violation. The construction company was contacted. The complainant called back three days later to say the problem was ongoing. This time police could hear the pump operating. More paperwork was generated regarding the complaint.  

Unauthorized resident 

A caller Feb. 25 complained about a person they believe is living in Depot Plaza who has created an odiferous situation. Police spoke with the individual who said they would leave the area. 

They came, they ate, they left A local restaurant reported a dine-and-dash incident.

Woman going door to door 

Suspicious activity was reported Feb. 26 by a caller on Hampton Road who reported a woman wearing a short black coat came to her door asking about an accident that had occurred earlier in the neighborhood. Police looked for the door-knocker without result. 

Fraud reported; a former gardener is the suspect 

A Parkfield Road resident Feb. 26 reported six fraudulent charges were made to their credit card. Four of the charges were made by someone who used to be the caller’s gardener and two charges were made by unknown individuals. The gardener’s employment was terminated in Nov. 2024. The victim's accounts are currently frozen and their bank is investigating. They did not want to press charges. A report was made for documentation. 

Eat and run 

An employee at a restaurant on Scarsdale Avenue reported someone ordered food, ate it and left without paying Feb. 27. Police looked for the dine and dash suspect with negative results. 

You talkin’ bout ME? An angry woman had nasty things to say about her ex.

Unauthorized account opened in his name 

An Olmstead Road resident Feb. 28 reported an account was opened in their name without their knowledge or permission. They were alerted to this situation by American Express. A report was made for documentation only and police advised the reporting party on strategic steps to take to safeguard their identity. 

Lost his mum 

Eastchester police Feb. 28 requested a drive-by on East Parkway looking for a 2018 Toyota Camry with NY plates. A male party had advised Eastchester police that his mother, 87, never arrived to pick him up at the Scarsdale train station. They called back soon after to say they heard from the man who found his mother. 

Pale and skinny, and wearing a black vest 

A woman aimlessly walking Feb. 28 on East Parkway was reported telling four different people she planned to walk to Mount Kisco. Each person who spoke with her described her as pale and skinny and wearing a black vest. Police looked for the woman but couldn’t find her. 

Real estate, real argument A pair of neighbors had a misunderstanding regarding property.

Trash-talking former girlfriend 

An issue with a co-worker was reported Feb. 28 by a man who came to headquarters to say his former girlfriend shows up unannounced at his house when his family is there. They both work at a business in Scarsdale. He said she abruptly quit her job and talked trash about him to a third party. No direct threats were made to him or his family. Police provided him with information how to obtain an order of protection and said there would be more drive-bys to his residence. 

A misunderstanding 

An Aspen Road resident March 2 shared with police a message he received from his neighbor regarding a real estate dispute. They read the messages and said there was a misunderstanding between the two parties and that further contact should be off the table. No further police action was required at this time. 

Loose dog 

A dog was brought to headquarters by someone who found it loose and wandering on a Scarsdale Village road. The dog’s owner was contacted and said they were thirty minutes away and would dispatch their neighbor to get the dog sooner. The dog was recovered and its owners advised of village code.
