Burglaries, unwanted messages and a stuck bird
Parked too close
A caller on Stratton Road Oct. 21 said someone parked too close to his driveway for him to safely exit. Police arrived and saw a legally parked car. The caller was advised.
Language, please!
Police Oct. 21 went to the scene of a minor two-car collision at Bradford Road and Broadmoor Road. They said “language” was exchanged between the two parties. Police facilitated an information exchange. Neither car required a tow and both drove away from the scene.
Stuck bird
A Post Road caller Oct. 21 reported a bird was stuck in a net near Dean Field by the baseball cage. Police notified the school who said someone would go to release the stuck bird.
Mother and daughter argue
A caller on Brite Avenue Oct. 21 said she argued with her daughter and needed police assistance. When police arrived the mom said the argument was verbal only and she didn’t need their assistance after all.
Stubborn neighbor
The town engineering department Oct. 22 reported a resident was refusing to let workers repair the road on Ferncliff Road by refusing to move her vehicle. Police arrived and the condition was corrected.
Two year old has car keys; locks out parent
A caller Oct. 22 on Heathcote Road reported he locked himself out of his rental car. He said his two year old daughter was inside the car and she had the keys. A locksmith arrived and unlocked the car. The caller said they are a physician and the child didn’t need to be checked. The child appeared to be in good health.
Burglary
Burglary was reported Oct. 23 at a home on Claremont Road. Grand larceny and criminal mischief were also reported. Multiple items were reported stolen. The resident said she wasn’t home at the time and returned to find her front door open and items missing.
Stolen wallet
A Bronx man reported his wallet containing his credit card and significant items were stolen from a location on Scarsdale Avenue Oct. 23.
Bad parking
A Hampton Road caller Oct. 24 reported a car was blocking her driveway and she needed to leave for an appointment. The owner of the car said his daughter drove the car to school. He said he would go find the car and move it. A citation was issued.
More burglary reported
Burglary was reported Oct. 24 from a residence on Gatehouse Road. While police conducted a sweep of the location they saw something that might help them investigate the situation. Patrol was unable to determine if anything was stolen from inside the residence.
Music blasting
A Nelson Road caller Oct. 25 reported a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt got into a silver SUV parked in front of her property. She complained about the music blasting from the car. She asked the police why such a person would park in front of her house. He was gone before police arrived. They told the caller there was no crime.
Neighbor issues
A Sheldrake Road caller Oct. 25 reported a problem with a contractor working on the property next door. The caller said the contractor was threatening. Police spoke with the contractor who described an ongoing dispute between the two property owners regarding property lines, permits and variances. The contractor showed police videos of the reporting party speaking to them aggressively and going so far as to leave messages on the fence in dispute between the neighbors. The caller wasn’t available to speak with the police.
Trying to catch a cab
A caller Oct. 25 reported a man who jumped in the street attempting to stop his car on Mamaroneck Road and Catherine Road. Police spoke with the alleged jumper who said he was just trying to hail a cab.
Teens ringing doorbells
A caller on Edgewood Road Oct. 25 reported teens ringing doorbells. Police said the kids were gone prior to their arrival.
Taking pictures
A caller on Secor Road Oct. 26 reported a man in a yellow sweatshirt standing near a sanitation truck was taking pictures of her and other residents. Police saw some sanitation workers performing their normal activities.
Threatening emails
A Montrose Road resident Oct. 26 told police she received a threatening email from an unknown party who threatened to expose photos of her online if she didn’t pay them money. Police advised her to block the sender and definitely not send them money.
Custody issues
A Brown Road caller Oct. 27 reported an ongoing custody issue with their former spouse. After receiving word from her sons that their father was not going to be dropping them off, she wished to document the breach. Police advised her to follow up with her attorney and family court.
Unwanted messages
A Fayette Road caller Oct. 27 said she has been the recipient of unwanted messages received via LinkedIn. She said she blocked the person but they found her via her professional page. She has reported the incident to LinkedIn and believes it may be a case of mistaken identity. She declined to have police contact the offending party and asked only for documentation of the incidents.
