BREAKING: DeCicco to shutter; possible replacement being discussed

A closing date has been set; management in talks with potential replacement.

Say goodbye  The grocery store will close surprisingly soon.

BY DEBORAH SKOLNIK

After 34 years of making grocery shopping convenient for Village residents and Metro North commuters, Scarsdale’s DeCicco Family Markets will be shuttering on Friday, November 15th.

“They’re in talks”

The well-placed employee who shared the news of the end of an era also disclosed that the owners are in talks with DeCicco & Sons, whose nearest outpost is in Eastchester off Post Road, to move into the space.

Asked if the two businesses are hostile to each other, as long rumored, the employee shrugged and said, “They’re brothers.” For now, those wishing to shop at a DeCicco Family Market can visit their remaining stores in Katonah, New City, and Jefferson Valley.

More on the story as it develops.
