A store is born

After months of waiting for its doors to swing wide, happy residents hail the opening of The Bagel Emporium.

Business is gonna blow up  Already, eager customers are thronging the ‘Dale’s new eatery.

We’ve peeked inside, we’ve pestered, and we’ve prayed to the gods of good noshes. And at last, all those carb-fueled wishes have come true: Long-awaited Bagel Emporium opened for business on Thursday. In a week that marks the closure of DeCicco’s, it’s uplifting to see the birth of a welcoming spot that is sure to be an excellent addition to the Village’s dining scene.

About a dozen visitors were in the store as of 8:00 a.m. Friday, many stepping up to the sparkling counter to order bagels, sandwiches to take to work, and more. Several young people, perhaps predictably, were sipping on coffee drinks, adding a little sugar and then re-tasting them as precisely as one might calibrate a Ferrari’s fuel injection system.

Bagel boss. Ryan Rozins, Bagel Emporium’s owner, says the ’Dale has given his business a warm welcome.

Bagel Emporium’s owner, Ryan Rozins, stood behind the busy cash register and expressed his gratitude for the town and its enthusiastic reaction to his store. “The support from the community has just been tremendous,” he shared.

Maya, 16, is exactly the kind of customer that Rozins appreciates. “They have really great flavors of bagels,” she said enthusiastically. “I’m very excited this place is here. We needed it.”
